Tick Tock

Tick Tock
I hear the clock
Ticking the seconds away
So loud
So clear
Tick Tock
I see the hand
Wiping every minute away
So strong
So determined
Tick Tock
It is merely a clock
Time? I see not
Time? I feel not
It is there, though
Ticking
Slipping
Tick Tock
Silent killer
Time is
Lurking around fearlessly
Bleed not, hurt not
But I am dying
We are all dying
For Time is
Taking away softly
Every second
Every minute
Of our life
Tick Tock
Listen!
Do you hear it?
Do you see it?
It’s there!
~ Ashley
Inspired by Kesha and the silence in the office. I’m all alone and waiting for Andrew. Waiting is wasting, so they said. Therefore, making my brain works a ‘lil so that time doesn’t get wasted. :) Or perhaps it does get wasted, in a good way.

I was nominated last week for The Celebrate Poet of Spring in 2011 Award, March 1, 2011, and was one of the many runner-up’s who are great and creative poets. The nominated poem was My Shallow Mind. I now honor it and would like to nominate Silvertongue for this week.

what a good way to elaborate about time.

Thank you Rea (not sure if I got your name right) for “wasting” some time here. :) I see you have a very lovely blog there, very inspiring.
March 3, 2011 at 11:23 PM
It’s never a waste of time for Rea to connect to wonderful people! The posts may be great in each of the blog sites but nothing beats the heart of the blogger! What do you think? Nice meeting you!
:)
March 3, 2011 at 11:35 PM
Yes, it’s always the heart of the blogger, I couldn’t agree with you more! It feels great, to find someone over the world wide web that shares the same thinking.

It is true, yet, something I don’t like to think about.
Eek, tick, tock.
March 3, 2011 at 11:20 PM
I too, sometimes wish it wasn’t real. But too bad, it is there! Ha! :D

March 4, 2011 at 3:01 AM
Hi Julian, thanks. You still remember the whole of the poem your mom told u? Your mom is amazing. Would really love to see/read it. :)

I like your writing here, Ashley. So true–time is marching on whether we want to acknowledge it or not–slowly “killing” us. Great perspective!
March 4, 2011 at 7:32 AM
Thank you for your compliment! Yes, like it or not, time waits for no man. :)

We won’t win the battle with time, but he sure does hang around. Nice poem.
March 4, 2011 at 8:19 AM
The only chance to win it is to beat it, and the only way to beat it is when we die, where time doesn’t matter anymore. LOL :D

Life is definitely tick ticking away
a little bit more each and every day.
That is why no matter what the day may hold,
I try to value it like it’s made of pure gold.
March 6, 2011 at 8:19 AM
This is brilliant! :)
March 6, 2011 at 10:45 PM
It’s tough to be ruled by Time, isn’t it? I visited Hawaii once and learned about the concept of “Island Time” – where the rules are not so strict. :) I like the way you kept repeating “Tick Tock”…reminding us that each second passes (kind of like how the clock’s ticking reminds us, too!).
March 6, 2011 at 8:31 AM
Thanks for reading. :) Yes, no matter what we’re doing, time is slipping pass.
March 6, 2011 at 10:47 PM
